PMW X TOP ITB 2022 Kick-Off Batch 1: Building Professional Business From Students

BANDUNG, kemahasiswaan.itb.ac.id – To support the development of student entrepreneurship more professionally, ITB released the Student Entrepreneurship Program (PMW) X Technopreneurship Orientation Program (TOP). PMW X TOP ITB 2022 program is a collaboration between the Sub-Directorate of Professional Development and Entrepreneurship, the Directorate of Student Affairs (PPK Ditmawa), and the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (LPIK) ITB.

"This program can be accessed by all ITB students from ITB Ganesha, Jatinangor, and Cirebon campuses. The PMW X TOP program is one of ITB's flagship programs that provides support and entrepreneurship development from start to finish. We are happy because this collaboration with LPIK can strengthen support for students, especially in their business development," explained the Head of the Sub-Directorate for Professional Development and Entrepreneurship, Sonny Rustiadi SE, MBA, Ph.D. when opening the Kick event. Off PMW X TOP ITB 2022 Batch 1 online (29/1/2022).

He said every year, and there are two batches of opening the program. This program is also open to all ITB students who are still TPB and entered the final semester. He believes that career issues after graduating from ITB are pegged to being a professional employee and taking a career as an experienced entrepreneur. The entrepreneurship program provides support to students through grants, coaching and business mentoring.

"This program is open to students who start their business or are still in the idea stage as well as those who have started their business for a long time. Can submit this program in two categories, namely start-up and scale-up. In addition to this, for students who successfully join this program, ITB provides credit recognition for students of around 3-5 credits," said Sonny. 

 

Meanwhile, the Head of LPIK ITB's Entrepreneurship Development Division, Dr. Dina Dellyana, said that the foothold had the primary goal: to stimulate an entrepreneurial culture by supporting the development of innovation and technology-based business ideas increase the number of new entrepreneurs. It has, namely, held training programs, coaching, and business briefing for the ITB community who have ideas that they want to be commercialized.

ITB's strategic goal is to become a research-based entrepreneurial university, making it necessary to build an entrepreneurial spirit in students. To support these strategic objectives, LPIK organizes a series of activities, including seminars, training, and mentoring.

"There are four programs in our division. One of them is Business Idea Generation (BIG), which looks like a hackathon. So for students who have never participated in PMW at all, they can also take part in the BIG program first because here you can increase your knowledge and understanding of technology-based business and others," said Dina.

Simultaneously with the event, there was also a Saturday Lesson program from Ruang Guru, which carried the theme Building Your Business Through Commercial Strategy in A People-Oriented Organization.
