BANDUNG, kemahasiswaan.itb.ac.id – Along with the development of activities and needs of student organizations (Ormawa) at ITB, the need for facilities is even greater. To respond to this, the Directorate of Student Affairs (Ditmawa) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) entitled Needs and Problems of ITB Student Activity Facilities (9/4/2022).
"Students in activities cannot be separated from the need for facilities. Therefore, the study space is one of the important factors in increasing student work capacity, collaboration, and creativity. Moreover, it fosters the spirit of achievement and positive energy of students, both in academic and student activities," explained the Director of Ditmawa ITB, Dr. G. Prasetyo Adhitama.
Before holding the FGD in 2021, his party surveyed 42 student organizations at ITB related to the need for facilities. The survey found that there was still 20 percent of ormawa who did not have a secretariat room. As a result, the activities of the Ormawa are mainly carried out in the courtyard of the campus terrace, the field, the open theater room, or other public spaces within the ITB campus.
In addition, most Ormawa need a representative room to store organizational tools or assets. It is because the current secretariat room is still considered less expected. Therefore, according to Prasetyo, most Ormawa need a particular room to store equipment.
With the condition of the facilities requiring development, his party held this FDG to re-identify the needs and problems of the facilities needed by Ormawa. In addition, his party also wants to know the expectations about facilities and management of room use in the ITB environment.
"The expected result of this discussion is the delivery of the survey results carried out. Then the results can build a constructive discussion about the type and character of facilities, management of space use, and environmental management. In this discussion session, we also discussed competitions and the preparation of a master plan regarding student activity facilities," he said
