BANDUNG, kemahasiswaan.itb.ac.id – Becoming a successful entrepreneur and positively impacting those around him is Nailah Shabirah's goal. The student who is the second place winner in the ITB Achievement Student Selection (Pilmapres) 2022 is a representative of the Outstanding Student (Mapres) ITB School of Business and Management (SBM).

"For me, outstanding students are driven to build change for the surrounding environment. It can be shown through competing ideas, willingness to learn, consistency in building new initiatives, or developing old initiatives to keep them relevant in the present. In addition, outstanding students can inspire others to be moved together to contribute to society," said the woman born in Depok.

According to him, achievement has a comprehensive scope. Not only in the academic field, but non-academic achievements are also significant. While studying at the first level, he joined the Javanese Dance and Karawitan Arts Association Unit (PSTK ITB) and the Indonesian Satoe community at SBM ITB. Moving to level 2, he began to become a Project Associate in the ITB Student Cabinet Family (KM). Only at level 3 did he begin to focus on working in off-campus organizations. Nailah's many student activities are not without reason. Everything he did in those organizations was the things he loved.

"My parents gave me the freedom to choose my path in life. They never forced me to be in a field or to do anything else they wanted. For that, I have great control over doing the things I love. However, even so, when I feel like a failure or choose the wrong path, they are always there to support whatever my life choices are," explained Nailah.

Aspiring to become young entrepreneurs, Nailah and several colleagues built a Meraki Asa Community Engagement Platform start-up. It is a platform for Indonesian youth to overcome the education and job opportunities gap in the province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). This program combines community engagement directly with villages in NTT with other education programs through the platform. It is hoped that from this initiative, the gap in education and career opportunities for Indonesian people in Java and Outside Java will decrease, thereby increasing Indonesia's Human Development Index, which is linear with the welfare of its people.
