BANDUNG, kemahasiswaan.itb.ac.id – To maximize students' potential and maintain the mental health of Counseling Guidance (BK), ITB held Counseling Training for Lecturers in the ITB Environment Campus Jatinangor and Cirebon, on 25-27 July 2022 online.
The Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs (WRAM) ITB Prof. Dr. Ir. Jaka Sembiring M.Eng said that students face enormous challenges, especially the challenges of change triggered by technology. It changes students' behavior, perceptions, and views, which automatically also impacts psychological conditions.
"From various studies from UNICEF, especially in Indonesia, in the age range of teenagers to young adults, it is found that 1 in 3 ages is prone to depression at various levels. We are certainly concerned that students are expected to have fast adaptability. Therefore, it is expected to impact the social and psychological balance of students," explained Jaka.
It tries as hard as possible to provide solutions to some of the student's problems. In maintaining mental health, we provide more adequate Counseling Guidance facilities and recruit professional experts in psychology. This counseling service is not only available on the ITB Ganesha campus. However, it will also be provided at ITB Jatinangor and Cirebon Campus.
In this training activity, the lecturer participants will be given various materials about understanding counseling and communication in counseling (listening skills) from expert psychologists from Dra. Isriana and Dra. Nina Ratma Maulina M. Psi.
