BANDUNG, kemahasiswaan.itb.ac.id – The Directorate of Student Affairs ITB in collaboration with ABeam Consulting Indonesia held a final presentation in the Business Analytics Consulting Course program on Wednesday (5/21/2025), located at the IPTEK Auditorium, East Campus Center Building, ITB Ganesha Campus. This event is the peak of an intensive course that has been going on for more than two months. ITB students are invited to hone their skills in data analytics, business consulting, and problem solving that are oriented towards industrial needs.

In his remarks, Hafiz Aziz Ahmad, S.Sn., M.Des., Ph.D., Head of the Professional Development and Entrepreneurship Sub-Directorate ITB, emphasized the importance of this activity as a learning forum that does not only provide theory but also practical skills relevant to the professional world.

Senior Manager of ABeam Consulting Indonesia, Niky Tasmin, also gave motivation to the participants. In his speech, he emphasized that the demand for expertise in data analytics continues to increase in today's job market.

"What's important as a data analyst is not only analyzing data, but also (knowing) what you can do further from that data, what you can offer to clients, what you can give to customers," he explained.
The program itself has been going since February 2025 and is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of business analytics starting from an introduction to fundamentals, to the application of statistics, machine learning, as well as how to analyze and solve real problems in the business world. Students who took part in this program come from various study programs at ITB, including Mathematics, Information Systems and Technology, Management, Geological Engineering, and Industrial Engineering.

The Program Manager of this course, Parada Mahanael Sormin, said that the final presentation is not just about displaying learning outcomes, but also a challenge for students to solve complex business problems.

"Not only looking at the tip of the iceberg, but also how problems under the surface are faced by a company. That's why the result presented as the solution can be different even though the study case is the same," said Parada.

He also added that ITB students have shown high enthusiasm during the program, as evidenced by their active interaction and continued exploration of the material provided.

The case studies given to participants are about how to improve a company's campaign response using analytics technology. Students are challenged to solve problems, dig into data, and design solutions based on statistics and machine learning that provide real impacts for businesses. This process not only teaches analytical thinking frameworks but also fosters adaptability and creativity in responding to ever-changing market dynamics.

This activity is a forum to support synergy between the academic world and industry in preparing the younger generation to face global challenges. Through this program, ITB students are expected to not only gain technical knowledge, but also a deep understanding of how data can be processed into business strategies that have real impacts.
