Bandung, Ditmawa ITB - PMW (Entrepreneurship Student Program) 2020 is a routine agenda of Career Center ITB under the management of Ditmawa ITB. The program opens a chance for student businesses to receive investment and increase students’ competency in the entrepreneurship field. In the execution, PMW 2020 collaborated with LPIK ITB (Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development Institution Bandung Institute of Technology) to synergize through similar programs.
The Assistant of Entrepreneurial Development Division Expert LPIK ITB, Ertanti Rizki Pangesti, stated that her party has an entrepreneurial incubation and training program conducted routinely called Technopreneurship Orientation Program (TOP). By collaboration of PMW from Career Center and TOP from LPIK, it is expected that students in the entrepreneurship field gain rewards in the form of investment for their business and guidance for their business.
In choosing which team will receive the investment, according to Ertanti, there are several scoring indicators, such as IPTEKS (Science and Technology) aspect, innovation, value proposition, business durability during the COVID-19 pandemic, market opportunities, and funding proposal.
“Other than receiving funding through the PMW program, the student business teams could also receive intensive education and training from LPIK ITB.” Ertanti stated.
She mentioned a few LPIK programs that can be synergized with other entrepreneurship programs, for example, the Technopreneurship Orientation program in providing education and training to develop entrepreneurship. There is also the Planned Technopreneurship Coaching program, which was in development by LPIK. This program was hoped to provide funding for pre-incubation startup contenders and guidance to develop their prototype further.
Like any other internship program, LPIK also provides internships in startups to give students experience working in a startup environment. A Business Idea Generation program allows students to further develop their creative ideas by developing their design thinking skills.
The collaboration between Career Center ITB and LPIK ITB through PMW 2020 may open more opportunities for collaboration and synergy between business programs within ITB.
“We truly hope that this collaboration program could run for a long time. In the future, it may be not limited to PMW program, but also other programs that could help ITB students and alumnus in creating job opportunities.” Ertanti added.
